Llyr Williams is more than just a pianist of outstanding virtuosity; as the Guardian put it, he has a magical ability to “transform the simplest of melodies into something exceptional.” Today, at the RWCMD, he embarks on an extraordinary new journey: six concerts exploring the life and profoundly romantic music of Frederic Chopin - a composer he has made his own.

Nid dim ond pianydd meistrolgar yw Llŷr Williams; fel dywed y Guardian, mae ganddo allu rhyfeddol i “drawsnewid yr alawon symlaf yn rhywbeth eithriadol.” Heddiw yn CBCDC bydd yn cychwyn ar daith newydd ryfeddol: chwe chyngerdd yn archwilio bywyd a cherddoriaeth hynod ramantus Frederic Chopin – cyfansoddwr y mae’n gwir arbenigo yn ei waith.

About the Llyr Williams: The Chopin Series  | Ynglŷn â  Llŷr Williams: Cyfres Chopin

Dreamer, revolutionary, lover and patriot: Frederic Chopin took the piano and transformed it into the ultimate vehicle for the Romantic imagination. For virtuoso pianist and RWCMD artist-in-association Llyr Williams, Chopin has been a lifelong passion; now, following his critically-acclaimed journeys through the music of Beethoven and Schubert, he begins a two-year exploration of the composer they called “the poet of the piano”.

Breuddwydiwr, chwyldroadol, cariad a gwladgarwr: Cymerodd Frederic Chopin y piano a thrawsnewidodd i gerbyd eithaf y dychymyg Rhamantus. I'r pianydd rhinweddol ac artist cyswllt CBCDC Llŷr Williams, mae Chopin wedi bod yn angerdd trwy gydol ei fywyd; nawr, yn dilyn ei deithiau o glod mawr trwy gerddoriaeth Beethoven a Schubert, mae'n dechrau ar daith dwy flynedd o'r cyfansoddwr fe galwon nhw 'bardd y piano.'
